Animal rights activist faces crime at Jeff Bezos protest

A California animal rights activist can be released from prison without bail pending her next court appearance on charges of felony for approaching Amazon's founder and CEO, Jeff Bezos, during a conference, announced Friday a judge.

Johnson says that he expects Sawhney to have a lawyer at his next court appearance. She was temporarily represented on Friday by a designated public defender.

Sawhney never approached Bezos. He sat in front of a moderator while Sawhney was surrounded by security guards and left the scene.
