Anne Hathaway says she wants to be called ‘anything’ except her own name

You know this actress from The devil wears Prada and The set? Well she has a very strange request: don’t call him by name.

You see, Anne Hathaway decided to “spill the tea”, as she put it, to Jimmy fallon January 12. She revealed that throughout her career, fans have innocently referred to her as “Anne,” not realizing that there is only one person in real life who calls her that.

“The only person who’s ever called me Anne is my mom, and she only does when she’s really mad at me, like really mad,” said Hathaway, 38. “So every time I go out in public and someone calls me I think they’re going to yell at me.”

So why isn’t she known as Annie? Well, the Oscar winner explained that when she was shooting a commercial at 14, she had to get her official SAG card for the Screen Actors Guild.
