Announcement of the ‘Animal Crossing’ x ColourPop Collab makeup line

Nintendo has announced a makeup line in collaboration with cosmetics brand ColourPop. The new collection will be inspired by the characters of Animal Crossing: New horizons.

Publishing only a preview via Nintendo of America’s Twitter account, ColourPop is keeping most of this collection a secret for now. What has been confirmed are at least four palettes in pink, green, purple and brown – with some Animal crossingthe most beloved characters of.

Tom Nook and his nephews adorn a four-pot green palette, while the Able Sisters get one in purple. The two museum owls, Celeste and Blathers, are depicted on an orange and brown palette, and Isabelle makes herself hers in hot pink.

The photo also hints at jelly shadows, lip pencils, and Bells game motto-themed items. Given their extensive collaborations with brands ranging from Disney Princesses to The Mandalorian, it is likely that there are many more items to be announced.

The collection is expected to launch on January 28, ten months later Animal Crossing: New horizons‘Liberation. This is ColourPop’s first collaboration with a video game brand, but their attention to detail in previous collections means each item will be themed creatively.

After a year of being on the bestseller lists on sites like Amazon and the Nintendo Store, Animal Crossing: New horizons still going strong. Recently, the PokeCenter at Pokemon games was recreated on a user Animal Crossing: New horizons Isle.

It’s far from the first Animal crossing island for inspiration from the real world. Last year saw an official KFC island and an island dedicated to President Joe Biden.
