Annoying iOS 15 Apple Watch unlock bug fixed

One of the most convenient features introduced by Apple during the pandemic was unlock your phone with Apple Watch. However, shortly after the public release of iOS 15, it became clear to “Unlock with Apple Watch” did not work for some iPhone 13 owners. Good news: Apple fixed the bug in its latest update.

The patch was released today as part of iOS 15.0.1. How do we know? The update summary says so explicitly. In addition to the unnamed bug fixes, Apple notes that it fixed an “issue where some users could not unlock iPhone 13 models with Apple Watch.” It doesn’t get any clearer than that. To get the update, go to Settings application, select General, then Software update. The feature works on iPhone X or later which is paired with Series 3 or later.

Since wearing masks is still common, it’s easy to see why iPhone 13 users were upset by the bug.
