As of today, August 25, 2021, you can purchase a Magic Key Pass (AKA an Annual Pass) directly on the Disneyland app or on the official Disneyland Resort website. These passes will allow Guests to visit theme parks multiple times a year (and, for Dream Key holders, an unlimited number of times a year!). Yet today, on the official launch day of the Magic Key Passes, we’re seeing incredibly low wait times at Disneyland Resort theme parks.

Of course, many fans expect wait times to increase once Magic Key holders visit the theme parks. After all, you get a lot more value from an annual pass than buying an individual theme park ticket each time you want to visit!

With Magic Key holders AKA Passholders visiting theme parks again, we will likely see an increase in wait times. However, today we still see the low wait times we saw over the last few weeks of this summer at Disneyland Resort in California. However, back to school is upon us, which means fewer families are visiting the parks mid-week.

Take a look at our screenshots below from the Disneyland app mid-morning on August 25th. Many attractions are only a 5-15 minute wait, and even the most popular rides – like the Matterhorn Bobsleds in Fantasyland, Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: ESCAPE! in Avengers Campus, or Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run in Star wars: Galaxy’s Edge – are not that bad!

The reintroduction of an annual pass program at the Disneyland Resort is timely, as the theme parks will begin their Halloween season on September 3. Oogie Boogie Bash also officially begins in the second week of September, and this special event in California Adventure is sure to bring some ghosts and smiles.

Disney has yet to share specific details on what’s going on for the holiday season – which typically runs from early / mid-November to early January – but we’ll share more details as they become available.
