CHICAGO – A sheriff's official stated that a person who did not want to be identified publicly had handed a check to the Cook County Clerk's Office for the full $ 161,633 alimony that R. Kelly was to release from the Chicago prison.

Policy Officer Cara Smith said the person wanted to remain anonymous. The part of the slip where a person who pays money writes his name and his relationship with the inmate has been left blank.

Kelly was released Saturday, three days after a judge ordered that he be detained while he was unable to repay the full amount he owed.

Two weeks ago, while he was accused of serious sexual abuse, he was taken to prison and stayed there for a weekend until a landlord. A 47-year-old suburban Chicago company posted a $ 100,000 bond.
