Former Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho, who was briefly on the Giants’ training squad in 2013, had this to say about Fox Sports 1:

Here’s the full quote from Aco, who is now an analyst at Fox Sports 1:

“Giants fans, on behalf of smart people everywhere, I apologize for your 2-14 record this season. I have to go ahead and apologize. And it’s not your fault, Giants fans. It’s not your fault that you’ve dedicated yourself to an organization that hired a coach who instills foolish practices. I don’t know if fool is a word, but the practices Joe Judge instills are so stupid that fool is the only word that fits. This is the only word that will fit crime.

“You are a professional athlete. This means that you have to be intrinsically motivated, that is, motivation that comes from within. If you’re not intrinsically motivated then you are extrinsically motivated – money, fame, women, whatever you want to call it. All of these things work. What doesn’t work is fear-based motivation: “ Hey, if you’re wrong you all have to put up with the exploration. If you get it wrong, you are all doing wind sprints. These are tactics to be used on children.

Former NFL tight ends Shannon Sharpe (a Hall of Famer) and Benjamin Watson (who was with Judge in New England last season) criticized him on Monday, after the Giants’ first practice on pads, in which Judge gave his players tricks for making mistakes. .

Aco’s comments came before the Giants’ second practice on Tuesday. And during that practice, Judge not only coached top running back Saquon Barkley in front of everyone, but (and more shockingly) he also put on a frontal tackle drill on the goal line.

Cornerback Corey Ballentine was rocked during this drill, which could apparently lead to injuries, on the second actual day of training camp. But Ballentine has finished the practice. After training, Judge was a passionate champion of his coaching style and the use of this drill.
