EA announced that Anthem joined their safe. This means that now, not only Premiere subscribers will have access to the game, but Origin Basic and EA Access members will be able to play Anthem for free as part of their monthly subscription. To have access at any time, you must of course remain subscribed to the service. For all the interesting and interesting details and an answer to the big question "should you start it now", keep reading!

EA offers two monthly subscription services. Origin Basic Basic subscribers (EA Access for consoles) can also play the game because it has just joined EA Vault. The Vault is a collection of video games that EA offers free to Origin Access and EA Access subscribers.

Until now, Anthem was available only in separate purchase in two editions (Standard and Legion of Dawn) and as an integral part of the high level – Origin Premiere.

The EA subscription has two levels: Basic and Premiere. Until now, Anthem's Legion of Dawn was available to Premiere members. The safe is accessible to both levels of members, but the game was not part of it. Now, Anthem's Standard Edition is included in the vault, which allows Origin Basic and EA Access members to access the game for free as long as they keep their subscription active.

In short, here is who can play Anthem and what edition:

  • Anthem Standard Edition – if you bought it or subscribed to Origin Basic / EA Access
  • Anthem Legion of Dawn Edition – if you have bought it or if you have subscribed to Origin Premiere

New on the anthem? Let me tell you what the game is about

This is a third-person third-person shooter with a personal story tale, which is not just a fluff, but attempts to conform to BioWare's typical storytelling standards.

The game was released in February and had a very unpleasant launch. The months that followed were even worse: the players pulled out and the social networks and forums turned the game upside down.

BioWare has decided to withdraw from Reddit and public forums and has kept a near total silence on new updates until they are ready to be published.

In early August, Cataclysm Update 1.3.0 gave up and reversed the trend. Or … started to change things – would be correct to say.

For the moment, the game still has problems and difficulties, problems arise with each new patch added. BioWare showed us that they stood firmly behind their words and had no intention of dropping the match.

The Cataclysm was a huge success, compared to the previous five months of lack of content and communication. The developers started to slowly return to Reddit, Discord and social networks with more comments and direct communication with the players.

Do you have to start the anthem now?

I am very optimistic about his future and if you are wondering if this game is worth your time, let me tell you how I see it. If you do not intend to play actively and for a long time, at least check out his story. I have been playing the anthem since before the launch. I have not taken a break and I still enjoy it.

Flying with javelins is an amazing feeling and it's something that BioWare has nailed from the beginning. Anthem becomes a lot more fun later, but you'll need to go through the tedious stuff to get to the right place where EndGame, in the upper levels, is fun rather than swiping and sweeping.

If you like the gameplay, but do not like the story, hurry up. The narration is not bad, but so far, it is not really breathtaking either. I love the mystery in all of this. The Art of Anthem book and the Comicbook mini-series have helped me hang on even more.

In general, I do not think that anthem is an important factor. If you start it now, you probably will not have enough time to take advantage of Cataclysm's new EndGame equipment before the end of the event. On the other hand, you will get enough crystals (the game currency) to buy at least some or most of the cosmetics – packs of weaves, wraps, graphics, decals and animations.

Last but not least – Anthem promotes team play. I have some great tips for finding a group. Follow them and have fun outside of the story. The story to play solo for a better immersion.

Why does EA invite you to play Anthem now? Why is time pressing?

There is always this fear in each of us that the hymn can follow the fate of Andromeda. Throughout these seven months, BioWare and EA have repeatedly said that Anthem was here to stay and that the game already had a life span of several years.

"Time is running out," says EA's official announcement. And explains:

While Anthem is now in The Vault – and that subscribers can play anytime – the Cataclysm event ends soon. Do not miss this opportunity, join the battle to silence the Cataclysm, defeat the Dominion and reap fantastic rewards today! – source: EA.com

The time you are missing is for you to join the Cataclysm event. BioWare did not tell us what would happen to the map and the event as a whole after the end of week 6.

In several places, the cataclysm has been announced as "event of the season". But we do not know what will follow. The developers have suggested that this Cataclysm is an event that changes the world. The creation of this map as well as all the objectives and activities it proposes has required a lot of work. It is not possible that everything disappears never to return. I do not think so.

The seasonal store, which has just been inaugurated, offers new equipment and interesting cosmetics in exchange for your hard earned crystals (new currency available mainly from the Cataclysm). These may disappear and not return before or after the end of week 6.

We just do not know and that's both annoying and exciting. From a historical perspective, it's cool not to know what will happen until it happens before your eyes. From the point of view of the shooters, it is frustrating not to know if the material you can grow now will disappear forever in about 10 days.

If you are really new to the game and do not want to follow the learning process yourself, check out the many guides / tutorials and news / updates I have in the Hymn category. If you have questions, ask later in the comments. I will be happy to help you.
