It's hard not to be excited about Storm Javelin from Anthem when you start the game. His elemental powers are among the most exciting of the hymn, perfect for eliminating multiple enemies at once, especially from above. In reality, it's probably the best javelin to choose first – it's simple to get acquainted with.
That said, our guide below will tell you the best loads for the storm and will give you other practical tips for mastering.
Storm skills in the anthem
With the storm, you have the potential to fly over the surface, raining down elemental attacks on your enemies. Your hovering ability also provides shield reinforcement during your hover, which puts you in a decent position to provide support without being sprayed.
Fly longer
The storm hovers for long periods of time, increasing the capabilities of the shield. Make the most of the plane if it's your favorite javelin.
Explosive and targeted attacks work well on multiple enemies.
The elemental storm attacks are elemental, and you will find that many of them offer decent zone damage. This means that you will want to hit groups of enemies as much as possible to get the most out of them.
Promote mid-range weapons
Since the Storm class is suited for air combat, you want more versatile weapons that can hit medium targets, such as assault rifles and shooter guns. Rifles or machine guns are simply not useful in these scenarios.
Best Storm Blast Seals in Anthem
Ice storm
Its area of effect is wide, plus it freezes the enemies in its wake. It's also a combo primer, and the fact of freezing them on the spot makes it easier to track a detonator.
Living flame
This combo primer will not come across as many enemies as Ice Storm, but it is a flaming missile that hits targets without any work.
Ice projection
Another leader, this time firing a block of ice at the enemies, able to freeze them and apply damage. You will however need a clear goal to land it properly.
Love at first sight
A detonator capable of hitting a lot of enemies at once, and not a bad attack either.
Shard of flame
Anything that is caught in the blast will be subject to fire damage and is able to fire several times, but it is not a primer or detonator for the combos, so not totally useful.
The best seals of Storm Focus in the anthem
Burning Orb
You can shoot this fireball in a few shots, or charge it for a bigger blast. This makes it a versatile detonator.
Ice lance
This ice attack is not really brutal against enemies, but it is a solid detonator, considering that the Blast Seal offers the best primers.
Shards of Frost
The name gives an idea of what it is: these frozen bursts are not particularly powerful, but they are better against groups of enemies. In addition to the Lightning Strike Blast Seal as a detonator, you potentially have a good combo setup.
Shock burst
This lightning attack will deviate from the walls, making it less useful in open areas, but better in narrower arenas. It's a primer that you can combine with Lightning Strike.
Arc Flash
Another lightning attack that is neither a primer nor a detonator, and therefore less useful.
Best storm support system in the anthem
Wind wall
This wall of protection is useful in a jiffy, because it will keep fire out of you and your teammates behind him.
Link
This will improve the cooldown of gear for all locals, but it's easy to miss a fight.
Best storm combos in the anthem
Since all of your best finishes are sanding joints, you will want to start a combination with Ice Storm or Living Flame, which between them will provide either zone damage or a homing attack. Our favorite detonators to follow are Burning Orb or Glacial Spear. The first allows you to launch multiple fire attacks at a time, while the ice radius of the spear is more accurate.
Best storm weapons in the anthem
As previously explained, medium range weapons are better suited to the storm than shotguns and other short range weapons. Consider that the hover is an important part of the storm's operation.
Top Storm Components in Anthem
We recommend Elemental Empowerment, which will let your equipment charge 50% more, although the penalty is a 20% loss of damage. Being able to attack more is actually a solid option, though. Elemental Synergy improves your damage by 50%, although the cooldown also decreases by 20%, if you prefer another strategy. Fire and Ice Entries also offer elemental damage bonuses.
Storm Ultimate in the anthem
Elemental Storm unleashes all the elemental powers of Storm at once: ice, lightning and fire, before ending with a meteor attack. Of course, it is better against groups of enemies.
