“When the actors move, everything stops and everyone comes apart like the Red Sea,” he said Monday on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show”.

Anthony Anderson tells life on the set of Blackish is certainly not the same as before the pandemic.

The actor appears on Monday The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where he tells host Sarah Silverman how things have changed.

“It was crazy,” he says, noting that there is something like a traffic control system to help the cast and crew distance themselves. “We have everything on our stage now, except the traffic lights. We have crossing guards, we have gates on the ground – an entrance, an exit. When the actors move, everything stops and everyone separates like the Red Sea. They inaugurate us in and out. “

Anderson says it took some getting used to. But he noted that the ABC comedy series was one of the first productions to get back to work amid the pandemic. They returned about two and a half months ago to film their seventh season.

“So we were kind of guinea pigs. But we got it, ”he says.

The actor also reveals that his mother previously turned down an invitation to visit the White House during President Obama’s administration.
