Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez mocked Wall Street on Wednesday for wanting to crack down on a Reddit bulletin board that helped GameStop’s stocks soar.

“I have to admit it’s really something to see Wall Streeters who have long treated our economy like a casino complaining about a poster board also treating the market like a casino,” the Bronx Democrat said. tweeted.

She added in another tweet: “Either way, tax the rich”.

Ocasio-Cortez alluded to the notorious Reddit “WallStreetBets” forum, which briefly went private Wednesday night after the group’s Discord channel was banned for “hate speech.” The subreddit was made public shortly thereafter.

“AOC supports us,” reads a message on the forum, along with a screenshot of Ocasio-Cortez’s Twitter feed.

GameStop and AMC Entertainment posted gains of 134% and 301% in one day with the help of the Reddit bulletin board, which plunged Wall Street institutional hedge funds into a frenzy.
