Apex Legends adds a new character to Octane tomorrow, but it's not part of the Battle Pass

Respawn starts the first season of its new Royal Battle Game, Apex Legends, tomorrow, March 19th, with the release of the Season 1 Battle Pass. It's also the day Octane, the new playable game legend will arrive – but you will have to buy it separately if you wish to try it.

Although he is heavily promoted along with Apex Legends' Season 1 battle pass, Respawn has confirmed that Octane would not be included in this part. Like Mirage and Caustic, it will be sold in the in-game store against 12,000 legendary tokens or 750 Apex coins. The first currency can be won by the game, while the second is bought with real money. However, you can get free Apex coins by registering with EA / Origin Access.

In anticipation of the Octane release, Respawn gave more details on the new legend on the PlayStation blog. Equipped with metal legs after being blown up during a race to record speed, Octane is a thrill lover who uses "death-defying moves". Thanks to his skill Adrenaline Junkie, Octane is able to trade health for speed and his Ultimate – Launch Pad – can send the team flying through the air.

While this is the first time that Octane is officially confirmed, players have known him for several weeks now. The character's existence had already been leaked, especially when his image appeared on the Origin website. Respawn also teased his imminent arrival by placing his pads in the game near Market.

Like the Fortnite Battle Pass, the Apex Legends Season 1 Pass costs 950 Apex Coins (about $ 10). With it, players can unlock 100 levels of cosmetic rewards, including character and weapon appearances, banner frames, and more. You will also earn enough Apex coins to pay for the Season 2 Battle Pass. To learn more about how the Apex Legends Battle Pass works, click here.
