Apex Legends devs test more Loba buffs for Season 8

Apex Legends is just a battle royale right now, but Respawn wants to do a lot more. As leaks have arisen about a possible Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode, the developers have kept their lips sealed, but soon indicate a big expansion.

While Respawn has worked to keep Apex Legends up to date with a number of limited-time game modes, all of them center around one thing: the Battle Royale genre. Loot pools or team sizes can change, but the core gameplay remains the same.

However, with Apex entering its third year on the market, Respawn is looking to do a lot more. The expansion into other FPS genres within Apex Legends has been going on for quite some time now, and in Season 8 there is more validity than ever before.

While the exact details remain under wraps, the leaks are everywhere. A TDM-style mode was the first on gamers’ lips after data miners like ‘Shrugtal’ discovered smaller ‘arenas’ that seem perfect for the mode.

Now Respawn is coming out with some big clues about Apex’s future. While they haven’t confirmed the exact modes to come – with the developers avoiding saying “TDM” at player request – they are looking to make Apex Legends more than just a battle royale.

“We are always looking for ways to expand the playing spaces of our Legends beyond Battle Royale. All I’ll say is we have a lot of really cool prototypes in the works, ”developer Brian ‘YaBoiBrian’ Vidovic told players on Reddit.
