Apex Legends has hit a whole new peak of concurrent users on Steam.

The free-to-play Battle Royale game – which released on Steam in November 2020 after almost 18 months as an EA Origin exclusive – hit 198,235 concurrent players on Steam yesterday, its highest peak concurrent users on record according to SteamDB (thanks , Dexerto).

The recent increase in the number of new players and those returning to Season 8 means that Apex Legends is currently the fifth most played game on Steam, making it more popular than GTA 5, Rainbow Six Siege and Team Fortress 2. .

It’s also in the top ten of the most watched games on Twitch, which means more people are tapping into Apex Legends than FIFA 21, CS: GO, and Valheim.

Main Caustic in Apex Legends? I have bad news – developer Respawn recently said that the popular legend “will gain attention in the near future.”

For a while, Caustic was one of those roster legends that gamers rarely spent much quality time with, but after recent tweaks and improvements, he now boasts the highest win rate in games that last over 20 minutes and began to dominate matches.

The news came just days after fan favorite Wraith increased the size of his hitbox. As explained in the Season 8 patch notes, Respawn hopes to control Wraith’s power without harming his abilities, and one way to do that is to change his hitbox.
