Apex Legends improvements and nerfs in the Evolution Collection event update

[ad_1]

The Apex Legends Evolution Collection event patch notes are here and there are a lot of tweaks and balance changes affecting in-game weapons and characters like Bloodhound, Octane, Revenant, and Rampart.

There are plenty of reasons to look forward to the Evolution Collection event given the return of classic Apex skins like Caustic’s Necrosis as well as a whole new legacy for Rampart.

All of that aside, Respawn is also making a ton of weapon and legend balance changes that should help struggling characters and items that could use a buff.

Check out the full Evolution Collection event patch notes here.

All Legendary Buffs and Nerds in the Apex Legends Evolution Collection Update

Bulwark: Sheila buff

Respawn entertainment

Sheila will be mobile after Rampart’s buff in the Evolution collection update.

The developers are giving Rampart a huge gameplay change now that her ultimate ability, Sheila, can now be used while walking.

While there were trade-offs, like the spin-up taking longer and being limited to a magazine, Respawn wanted to give Apex’s defensive option a bit more agency in its Ability Kit.

  • Rampart will now be able to run with Sheila and shoot while walking. The spin is longer and she only gets one magazine in this mode.
  • Once Sheila is out, you can put her away and remove her until you run out of ammo (or hit the cooldown).
  • At any time, you can always drop Sheila off for your teammates to use. Once placed it has infinite refills and acts like the previous version. You can’t get it back.

Revenant: visibility of the totem pole

The Red Doom of Apex has been left largely untouched this time around, but the developers have given its ultimate, Death Totem, a much needed VFX upgrade.

Now players will be able to spot the totem much faster as it has a heartbeat effect that Respawn compared to Loba’s ultimate placement.

  • VFX (similar to Pulse on Ult Loba placement) added to increase visibility when a totem is placed nearby.

Octane: Nerves to Jumping and Stimulation

Respawn entertainment

Octane gets a slight nerf in the upcoming Apex Legends patch update.

Apex’s daredevil becomes a bit more entrenched after the arrival of the Evolution Collection patch. Namely, the distance he gets from the horizontal jumps of the Jump Pad is remembered.

Meanwhile, the regeneration he gets from Stims is reduced to keep Junkie’s adrenaline at bay.

  • Reduced the horizontal distance of the jumping mat by 10 to 15%.
  • Decreased Octane Stim regeneration rate from 1.5 to 1.0 hp / sec.

Bloodhound: Stalker Timer

Bloodhound’s passive is invaluable to their team, and the communication of crucial clues that come from it has improved even further.

  • When Bloodhound ping a hint from their passive, it will now show their teammates in quickchat how long the event has been taking place

All buffs and weapon nerfs in the Apex Legends Evolution collection update

Bocek Compound Bow: Nerf and Buff

The Bocek has fallen out of favor since its strong debut, but Respawn is tweaking it slightly to make it a bit more appealing for mid-game inventories.

  • Slightly reduced draw speed from 0.56 to 0.54
  • Arrows per brick increased from 14 to 16
  • Arrows per inventory stack increased from 28 to 32

Hemlok: buff, slight return

Respawn entertainment

Apex Legends players could take advantage of the next batch of Hemlok changes.

Respawn reduced the effectiveness of the hipfire a few seasons ago, but now they want to bring it back.

The goal is to make the Hemlok more consistent, so it will be interesting for players to start picking it up again.

  • Decreased spread of hip fire
  • Hipfire resets slightly faster

buff Shatter Caps: Bocek & 30-30 Repeater

Shatter Caps are in a healthy place, but there’s always something about them that can make it feel like “a little bit punishing to go into fashion.”

That’s why Respawn improves the Hop-Up slightly until it feels like a more equal compromise when switching to them.

Bocek

  • Slightly reduced draw speed from 0.56 to 0.54
  • Arrows per brick increased from 14 to 16
  • Arrows per inventory stack increased from 28 to 32

Repeater

  • Damage per pellet increased for all pulling forces
  • Short Draw Damage: 4 to 6
  • Average print run: 7 to 9
  • Full draw: 11 to 12

L-Star: Balance nerf

Respawn entertainment

The L-Star was really strong at the start of Season 10, but it’s due to a few balance changes.

The L-Star was a good choice in Season 10, but he’s going to be slightly nerfed to balance his power.

If it needs more tweaking, Respawn will keep a close eye on the performance of the L-Star as there are changes both in the Battle Royale mode and in the arenas.

  • Slightly increased recovery time
  • Overheating lens replacement time increased slightly
  • Overheating front revs reduced at base and at all Energy magazine levels
    • Base: 22 to 20
    • White: 24 to 22
    • Blue: 26 to 24
    • Purple / Gold: 28 to 26
  • Arena price adjustments:
    • Base: 500 to 600
    • Blue: 300 to 250
    • Purple: 400 to 350

Hunting rifles

The Mozambique and Eva-8 both get a few small tweaks to give players a reason to tinker with other shotguns.

Sheave

As such, there aren’t a ton of changes, just slight balances to make the weapon class a lot more consistent.

Mozambique & Eva-8

  • The EVA-8 and Mozambique headshot damage multiplier has been reduced from 1.5 to 1.25, aligning it with the Peacekeeper and Mastiff.

Triple take

  • ADS charging time decreased from 1.0 to 0.8

This is a summary of all the changes to weapons and legends in the Apex Legend Evolution Collection event patch notes. Respawn will monitor these changes and make any necessary fixes, if necessary, after the patch update arrives on September 14.
