Apex Legends is in the final part of season 7 and is now preparing for season 8. This means Respawn is starting to roll out teasers for the next legend, possible new modes and even another planet.
On January 15, Apex Legends released a new version of the classic Kings Canyon map out of the blue. With that, Mirage Voyage was back, but there were also some interesting teasers in the sky.
Then, later that same day, they posted on social media what appears to be our first clue as to what’s going on in Season 8.
This new teaser mentions Salvo, who we’ve heard about in Apex Legends before. It also features a handshake – and the hands are potentially our first look at the Season 8 Legend.
Season 8 teaser
This teaser was not in the game, but instead was posted on official Apex Legends Twitter and Instagram accounts. It was captioned “ New Blood ” – perhaps a clue to the “ new blood ” joining the Apex games.
In the teaser, we see a handshake between someone representing the planet Salvo and someone representing the Syndicate. If you don’t know, the Syndicate is in charge of Apex Games.
The text reads: “The Syndicate and Salvo… finally united. Approved by the Unification Board Committee. If you don’t know what that means, we’ll explain it below. The image is then stamped with the logo of Salvo MC (presumably Salvo Motorcycle Club).

What is Salvo in Apex Legends?
Salvo is another planet in the Outlands, and one that has been independent from the Syndicate, until now. The most important information we have on Salvo comes from a letter that was on Wattson’s desk. The letter said:
“I am writing to inform you that Salvo – who rejected the Mercenary Syndicate’s position to join Syndicate Space in 2722 – is now being guided by new leaders sympathetic to the cause of peace in the Outlands.
Discussions with this new administration were prolonged, but ultimately fruitful; As of today, the Mercenary Syndicate Treaty has been amended and Salvo will become the seventh world to join Syndicate Space.
Salvo brings with him [redacted]. To come up [redacted] The Public Relations Office will deploy a [redacted] to dispel inaccuracies on [redacted] to create a [redacted] for their integration into the Union, [redacted] including exciting new developments in Apex games.
At the moment, do not correspond to the captions on this subject. Expect further instructions [redacted] our office in the days to come.
The letter on Wattson’s desk told us about Salvo and the union.
Is Salvo a new card?
It’s unlikely, at least for now. We just got a new map for Season 7 after all. Salvo is a planet too, rather than a singular place (eg Olympus is a city on planet Psamathe).
Season 8 Legend
More likely, Salvo is the home planet of the new legend, which data miners say will be called Fuse, and whose abilities will relate to explosives (which would actually be related to the name “ salvo ”).
Another clue is the spaceship that we can now see above the map over Kings Canyon and Olympus. The ship has a message that simply reads ‘Salvo joins the union’.

Expect to see more teasers on Season 8, Salvo, and the New Legend in the coming weeks. Season 8 is scheduled to begin in early February, to tie in with Apex Legends’ two-year anniversary.
