Apex Legends the most overpowered character, or at least one of his most OP characters, is becoming nerf and soon nerf. How do we know? Because Respawn Entertainment has confirmed it. In any competitive game based on characters or heroes, there are inevitably some characters that are more viable and useful than others. In the current meta, most players would agree that Wraith and Caustic are the two most boring characters to face. Unfortunately for those who master the latter, the big one gets nerfed.
Caustic has been a controversial character since Season 7. Prior to Season 7, Caustic was actually far from a meta-header character, however, a slew of buffs changed that, and although it has since been changed, this was not enough according to some players.
Over the past few weeks, complaints about Caustic have grown louder and louder. And recently, one of those complaints caught the attention of a developer on Reddit. Responding to a player highlighting community calls for the Caustic nerf and how the character clashes with the game’s philosophy, John Larson, a game designer, confirmed that a nerf is in the works and coming.
“I think since the change in throttle allowed his teammates to play gas with relatively no repercussion, there was a lot of unrealized potential that was quickly tapped into over the past two months,” Larson said speaking. of the character. “Caustic is undeniably strong and has the highest win rate in matches that last over 20 minutes. Caustic plays a unique role as a defensive legend who can act offensively in certain scenarios, and we need to make sure we polish him up. in a way that eliminates the frustration without hurting what it feels like to play the part of Caustic. “
Larson continued:
“Long story short, we’re hearing feedback from the community, as a player I think it’s valid, the data confirms he’s strong, and he will gain attention in the near future. Mountain peak becoming “Ability Legends”, as new characters are introduced it is important that they occupy a unique design space. This opens the door to potentially devastating synergies between Legendary abilities. I’ve seen (and experienced myself) the chaotic end game clips, and it’s something we’re actively working to resolve.
