Apex Legends patch 1.78 notes: Prowler and L-STAR nerf, Arenas price changes

Respawn Entertainment sent out some key changes on August 10 with Apex Legends update 1.78 which fixed some bugs with Seer’s abilities. The company has also said it will nerf the Prowler and L-Star, while increasing their prices in arenas.

Both nerfed weapons appeared to be instant favorites after the Season 10 update: Emergence. People knew the L-Star would get more attention this time around, which gave the studio plenty of information for some balances.

However, a minor update has already been released in Apex that addressed the early issues with Seer and some weird interaction that occurred with Fuse and Wattson.

Respawn likes to quickly get a handle on Apex’s state of play at the start of each season, and this time around is no exception.

Fixed an indicator light bug

Seer got off to a great start in the Power Rankings when he arrived at Apex. But he dominates the Season 10 meta, so the devs are looking at balance changes to eventually nerf Seer soon.

While we wait for these changes, Respawn is fixing some issues that have arisen with the new Legend.

There are a few bugs with Seer that would be better if fixed, but the studio seems to be on the lookout for any issues.

Prowler, L-Star nerves

Since the start of the Season 10 update, there have been calls from the community to nerf the Prowler. Now that the Prowler is no longer available, people are calling it OP and want some tweaking.

Respawn will be testing the waters with an upcoming update that will slightly reduce its damage from 15 to 14, to see if that should fix the issue.

Meanwhile, the L-Star has been causing chaos lately and the devs are also experimenting with smaller changes to see how they affect the weapon. For now, ADSing with L-Star will become slower.

The Prowler has been very strong in Apex Legends Season 10, and Respawn is experimenting with slight nerves to cool it down.

Both weapons will also see a price increase for the arenas. They will still be great options, so Respawn wants to readjust the purchase prices for the guns.

  • Fix bugs with Seer’s abilities
  • Resolves a script error that was sometimes triggered by an interaction between Fuse’s Ultimate and Wattson’s Ultimate

Later today we will also ship a quick balancing patch which:

  • Reduces Ranger damage by 15> 14
  • Reduces speed when ADSing with L-Star
  • Fix a card hole near the Air Conditioner
  • Increase Prowler and L-Star prices in arenas
