Respawn Entertainment has released a new ’80s action movie-style trailer for Apex Legends season 8 and Fuse is its biggest star. Along with a preview of the game’s latest legend, the trailer also gives us a quick look at the recently destroyed version of the Kings Canyon map.
Since this trailer puts Fuse in the center, it’s also our best look at what he can do so far. It appears that Fuse has a wrist-mounted grenade launcher, which he can use to throw explosives at enemies. It also appears to be able to drop a cluster of napalm on the map, which sets the ground on fire for some time after its use. While those two are likely his tactical ability and his ultimate, Fuse’s passive still remains a mystery.
The trailer also shows off the recently updated version of Kings Canyon. The map appears to be in ruins after a ship crashed into it in an earlier Season 8 trailer. While we don’t have a lot of details on the type of damage the crash caused, we do see a few spots that appear to have gained new entry thanks to the massive holes carved into their walls.
The other new additions in Season 8 are all about weapons and we also get a glimpse of them in the trailer. This season’s new weapon is the old-west style 30-30 repeating rifle. The semi-automatic pistol appears to be quite powerful, but its rate of fire is certainly slower than most other weapons in the game.
Respawn Entertainment is also adding Golden Magazines with Season 8, which seem to feed endless ammo straight from your bag to your weapon, with no need to reload.
All these new additions to Apex Legends is slated to go live at the start of the season on February 2.
