Respawn Entertainment has confirmed that a new way to reload will be available in the Apex Legends Season 8 update, as gold mags for weapons are added.
The eighth season of the game’s history kicks off two days before the battle royale’s second anniversary, and based on what we know so far, its next Legend Fuse enters the fight with a bang.
The first trailer for the update showed a destroyed Kings Canyon, after Fuse arrived which didn’t quite go as planned. Explosives have been stored all around the map and gone, which means big map changes are expected. If you’re looking for a full map for S8, in addition to the first patch notes, January 26 will be the date to watch.
However, the dev team dropped another huge detail promoting the trailer two live showcase, mentioning new magazines in the works. Gold Mags, to be exact.
Apex Legends Season 8 Gold Mags Confirmed
As regular gamers now know, these trailers are often a live page for the community to log into before the promo video goes live. A countdown finally starts and new content emerges.
That said, this time around we didn’t have to wait for the countdown to know that great things are going to be mentioned in the storefront. In the video’s description for YouTube, it says, “Fuse is coming in Season 8, and he’s got a lot of attitude – and things exploding. Take down the opposition with the Salvo’s most popular weapon, The 30-30 lever repeater Explore a obliterated Kings Canyon reshaped by the arrival of Fuse.
“Look for gold magazines that can automatically reload guns into their holsters. Plus, collect the latest Battle Pass and go through the competition in ranked mode. Ready to master the chaos?

So yes, it looks like Gold Mags will be one of the most important features of the Apex Games in Season 8.
Will the Gold Mags be under control?
Immediately, players were concerned that this new item was overkill. However, game designer Daniel Klein reassured players that reloading will not be instant.
“I think some of you imagine it’s a lot faster than it is. There is a good delay before a weapon in its holster is reloaded, and if it turns out that this delay is not long enough, we can always increase it. The developer explained. “It should not be used to cheat on a recharge; it should be to switch to another weapon, use it a bit, then go back to your original weapon reloaded.
The developer also explained that there is a quick on-screen pop-up and a “sound” when your remote reload is complete – so you’ll know when it’s safe to go back!
