Apex Legends Skins Delayed After Company Changed Name Mid-Promotion

This littlek what Assumed to see the release of a new set of branded skins for Apex Legends, made in conjunction with streetwear label Chinatown Market, but that company’s decision to change its name between the announcement and the release of the skins means Respawn currently has them on hold.

The skins were originally due to release March 30:

But on the same day, Chinatown Market announced a major decision to rename the entire company, after criticizing its name – a tribute to new York Canal Street, a major part of the city’s Chinatown –was an act of cultural appropriation, which management acknowledged to their credit as “this is not our name to use”.

Respawn now says the skins will be “back with a new look after the rebranding.”
