Apex Legends is officially available on the Switch today, and as you may have heard, it will offer cross-play – allowing you to compete against players on other systems.

So what will it be for Nintendo gamers in battle? In a conversation with Famitsu, Panic Button technical director Andy Boggs said the game will play out. 720p moored, 576p in portable mode and has a frame rate of 30 frames per second in both modes.

While a lot of effort has gone into the Switch version of the game, in combat – competitors on other platforms could potentially have double the frame rate, if not more. While there may be performance limitations, Andy told Nintendo Life that there are no sacrifices or tradeoffs in terms of features or content:

“Not really when it comes to features or content, everything that is on other versions of the game should be there on Switch. I think the big challenge for us is always figuring out what parts of the game we can adapt and make changes. and optimize and which parts are so essential that we have to leave it alone. I think in the end the changes we had to make will not affect the player experience. It’s always a great experience and it feels like playing Apex! “
