Apex Legends System Requirements Can Limit Success

Apex Legends has quickly climbed to the top of the charts, bringing together over 50 million registered users during its first month of availability. However, a new analysis suggests that the free Royal Battle of Respawn could hit a wall, its growth being limited by relatively high system requirements.

DFC Intelligence reviewed the performance of Apex Legends last month and its predictions for the game are based on comparisons similar to those of last year on the battlefields of Fortnite and PlayerUnknown. While DFC finds the initial Apex Legends player impressive, the report notes that the game was almost unregistered by young players aged 16 to 16. Among players ages 10 and up, Fortnite comfortably remains the best game.

The report speculates that using the traditional Respawn first-person model is a limiting factor for Apex Legends. Fortnite, according to the report, was helped by being perceived as a more accessible experience for people who do not normally play FPS games – a fact that contributed to its possible overrun of PUBG.

PUBG and Apex Legends also have a higher system configuration (you can view the requirements for Apex Legends on our partner site, the system requirements). According to DFC data, 64% of personal computer users have hardware that meets Fortnite's minimum system requirements. Only 47% of users passed the Apex Legends system test and 29% passed the PUBG system test.

"All of this means that DFC thinks that Apex Legends is a major success in the Royal Battle, which will probably not reach the level of Fortnite," the team wrote. "Of course, this should be a boon to the parent company Electronic Arts. It remains to be seen whether Apex Legends can be a stable long-term revenue generator. "

DFC has concerns in this regard as well.

"Electronic Arts has never been so good with microtransaction economics and this trend seems to be continuing with Apex Legends," he writes. "We're going to give the game some time before doing a full analysis, but the initial microtransaction model was confusing and expensive. This could prove to be a long-term problem for a game that seduces its audience. "

Very well. The Apex Legends Battle Pass is a little expensive for what it provides, and the game's cosmetics leave something to be desired. Even though the growth of the game is slowing down, the results already achieved, both in terms of players and income, are impressive.

Hopefully he'll have many years of dynamic and team tournaments.
