Apex Legends players have been having a miserable time lately. When the game is not to be hacked by a malcontent Fall of the Titans players, players sometimes go to have huge fights on controversial gambling strategies, such as strafing. The latest heartbreak that befell them is a whole new set of connection issues, this time likely caused by a recent patch, and which likely won’t be resolved until the end of the week.

Respawn has confirmed that a new crop of disconnects is tormenting the game, three times more than they usually would see. But rather than being something they expect to see fixed immediately, they say it’s going to remain an issue until September 22, when another fix will be rolled out.

It is believed that it all started with last week’s patch which aimed to address some issues with last year’s new character, Rampart. But apparently someone must have pulled the wrong wire of code, and something “terrible started to unravel”.

Respawn adds that they will “extend the current leaderboard by a week – this update will go live on Monday.”

The 22nd is only two days away, but three more days without being able to log into your current beautiful battle royale can be quite disastrous. There are so many more waiting in the corner of a player’s eye, temptingly calling on them with their working lobbies and stable connections. With a bit of luck this patch actually fixes the problem, rather than accidentally introducing one more raft.

Oh, and then a bunch of malcontents Apex Legends players will inevitably start hacking the game to let everyone know that they were upset that they couldn’t play for a few days, thus sparking another group of disgruntled people. Apex Legends players hack the game to express their disappointment at this previous hack, and so on until death by the heat of the universe.
