Apple announced that developers of the App Store would now be able to offer a "grace period" if a customer's subscription was self-renewing.
Previously, not processing a payment would have the effect of cutting subscriptions. This can happen for a variety of reasons, including expired cards, insufficient funds, changes to billing information, and so on.
Now customers can "continue to access [an] paid content of the application for a given period, "while Apple is trying to collect the payment. Apple stated that "there would be no interruption in the number of days of paid service to the subscriber or [developers’] returned."
Apple did not specify the exact duration of the grace period, although it was taken into account in this regard.
Developers can do this by accessing the App Store Connect portal where they manage their applications. From there, go to "My Apps" -> Features -> In-app Purchases and select "Enable" in the new "Billing Grace Period". section.
