Apple today hosted its Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) with a host of announcements regarding both its hardware and software. The kickoff of the conference was an unexpected surprise: the PS4 and Xbox One controllers support is intended for both the iPhone (via iOS 13) and the Apple TV.

According to the official Apple iOS 13 features preview, the next software update, scheduled to launch this fall, will allow PS4 and Xbox One controllers to run on iPhones via Bluetooth compatibility. With the Apple tvOS update, which should also be launched this fall, the two controllers will also work on the Apple TV. As indicated by a CNET report, Apple has not confirmed whether all controller features, such as vibration and headset functionality, would work as soon as both products receive their respective updates.

The news does not come long after the Californian company unveiled its online streaming service, Apple Arcade. The monthly subscription service should be launched in the fall and, even though the pricing has not been disclosed, Apple has confirmed that many developers, including Konami, Sega, Sumo Digital and many others, are working on introduction of games on the platform. Some titles include Oceanhorn 2: The Lost Kingdom Knights, Team Sonic Racing, The Artful Escape, Where Cards Fall, and more.

In other WWDC news, iOS 13 will introduce the much-needed feature of the dark mode on the entire platform. The iPad is getting its own software called iPadOS and will implement new features, such as a column view for better multitasking. A dedicated app store is heading to the Apple Watch, which will greatly simplify downloads. Apple also brought the Mac Pro with 28 cores, a six-channel memory system, eight PCI expansion slots, and so on.

The Apple TV has been revised 4K in September 2017 and is currently available at a price of $ 179. CNET called the device an answer for those who have a 4K HDR TV and many iTunes purchases.
