Even though it looks like we still have more than a few years before Apple Car can reach the world, the excitement builds as we learn more details. Now a graphic designer has created a sharp Apple car concept that imagines what it would look like with a large 15-inch center console display like Tesla uses with its Model 3 and Model Y.
Graphic designer John Calkins yesterday shared the Apple Car concept “Apple Autos” on Behance. It is based on the idea that “if Apple made Model 3”? Apple Car Concept: What if Apple made the Tesla Model 3?
John’s concept is a lot like CarPlay imaging on steroids – in a really good way. The Model 3 uses a center-mounted 15-inch touchscreen, so it’s like bringing a MacBook Pro into a car and mixing the rest of the necessary automatic interfaces with what we have with CarPlay now.
This Apple Car concept uses a dock on the left side like the CarPlay features now, but with this screen size it looks more like macOS Big Sur mixed in with a larger iPad Pro.
The car and driving visualizations and general layout are inspired by Tesla’s existing experience here, but with Apple’s refinement and attention to detail.
