February 12 marks the first day of the Lunar New Year, with 2021 marking the start of the Year of the Ox and saying goodbye to the Year of the Rat. To celebrate, Apple is launching limited-edition AirPods Pro in select Asian countries, with a case featuring a new take on the cow emoji.
Apple has also revisited its beef-themed logo on some regional versions of its website:
The Special Edition AirPods Pro retails for the same price as regular AirPods Pro, which is just as good considering the fact that you can order them with any text or emoji you want engraved on the case for free. They cost 1,999 yuan ($ 310) in mainland China, for example, and they are also on sale in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and Malaysia.
Apple limits orders to two per customer, and AirPods Pro will only be available at Apple Retailers as well as local Apple websites in each region. The Year of the Ox only happens once every 12 years, so if you buy them you might want to trade them in for a tiger-themed model in a year from now – assuming Apple decides to get one out.
