Apple could get rid of iTunes

Apple will soon get rid of its iTunes application. Bloomberg has announced that the company is working on new stand-alone applications that would replace iTunes on Mac.

And yes, we already knew it. In April, we wrote that Apple was working on the new Apple Music App, TV, Podcasts and Books for the Mac, which would replace iTunes. At the time, it was not clear that Apple would completely get rid of iTunes because it was not clear whether the new Apple Music app would be able to allow users to manage their Apple devices as iTunes is currently doing .

But according to Bloomberg, the new Music app will allow users to sync their devices and manage them instead of using iTunes. We recently watched the new Apple Music app, which is not much different from iTunes, but could mark a major change in strategy for Apple.

What will be more interesting to see is how Apple takes care of replacing iTunes on third-party platforms. That the company publishes a new Apple Music, TV applications for Windows to replace the classic iTunes application (also available on the Microsoft Store) remain unknown. The company recently launched iTunes on third-party smart TVs, so I guess they will simply be renamed Apple TV when the company's video streaming service is launched later this year.
