Apple could release a new Apple TV with a chip A12

Apple's annual September event will take place in less than a week, which means it's officially the season of Apple hardware. Although we would probably see new iPhones and perhaps new Apple Watches, another hardware product could also be introduced: a new Apple TV.

MacRumeurs reports today that references to a new Apple TV have appeared in an internal version of iOS 13. A tweet from @never_released, which MacRumeurs claims to have already shared the code names of Apple hardware, but that the new Apple TV will arrive with an A12 chip.

The tweet is not clear whether the chip will be the Aion Bionic used by iPhone XS, XS Max and XR, or the A12X Bionic used by the latest iPad Pro. It would be a nice upgrade to the A10X Fusion chip that is currently powering the Apple TV 4K, released two years ago.

None of these reports alone confirms the appearance of a new Apple TV next week. But the annual Apple event on the iPhone is also the perfect time to announce the latest details of two services that will be tightly integrated with the Apple TV: Apple TV Plus, the streaming service of Apple launched in November priced at $ 9.99 a month, and Apple Arcade, the game of Apple. According to rumors, the subscription service would cost $ 4.99 a month.

If Apple announces more details on these services next week, it seems likely that Apple will want to position them as excellent products to subscribe and access to its new decoder. That said, it is possible that Apple will record detailed information about these services, as well as the announcement of a new Apple TV, for the iPad event that it usually organizes in October. This event has not been announced yet, but it tends to fall by the end of the month, which would occur before the alleged launch date of Apple TV Plus.
