Looks like Apple has a “Christmas surprise” for all consumers next month, according to reliable leaker L0vetodream. In a cryptic tweet, L0vetodream says Apple’s “surprise” will be “good for winter”. While there is no confirmation that L0vetodream’s tweet points to the impending launch of AirPods Studio, this is the product that has been rumored for some time given recent speculation. A reveal could happen – with iOS 14.3 beta includes an icon that reveals Apple’s AirPods Studio headphones.

AirPods Studio will be Apple’s first pair of premium wireless headphones. They are rumored to contain interchangeable parts, with the ear cushions being said to be magnetic and easily removable. AirPods Studio will be able to detect whether it is on the left or right ear and route the audio accordingly. Interestingly, AirPods Studio will come with a ‘neck detection’ feature, which means the earbuds automatically detect and understand when you take them off and leave them around your neck.

There is a clear indication that Apple is about to launch its first over-ear headphones on the market. Last month Bloomberg reported that audio products from major brands such as Bose, Sonos and Logitech have been pulled from physical Apple stores. For example, the Bose 700s are high-end in-ear headphones and they’ll be competing with Apple’s upcoming AirPods Studio.

Apple is said to be launching AirPods Studio in two styles: a Sport version that will cost $ 350 and a high-end luxury version that will set you back $ 599. The launch of AirPods Studio could shake up the premium headphone market, with Sony and Bose hit the hardest.

Earlier this week, Apple hosted its high profile virtual event where it launched the first Mac ARMs. AirPods Studio have not been announced. AirTags weren’t either, a Tile-like tracker that has been rumored for some time and is supposed to help you find lost items like a backpack and purse.
