Apple Drops 256GB iPhone SE After iPhone 13 Introduced

[ad_1]

Amid other iPhone lineup redesigns this week, Apple appears to have quietly ditched the 256GB variant of the iPhone SE. Until this week, the iPhone SE was available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB configurations, but Apple’s online store now says only 64GB and 128GB options are available.

Apple hasn’t made any other price adjustments to the iPhone SE, so you’re still looking for $ 399 for the 64GB model and $ 449 for the 128GB model. The removal of the 256GB option has been spotted for the first time by the people of IPhone ticker. The 256GB iPhone SE was previously available for $ 549.

In an ideal world, Apple would have done here to make the 128GB iPhone SE the base configuration at $ 399 and keep the 256GB model at $ 449. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen, with Apple simply ditching the Tier 1 storage option.

There are rumors of a new iPhone SE coming in 2022, so this could be an example of Apple cutting back on production and shifting efforts to the so-called iPhone SE 3.

As a reminder, here’s what the full iPhone lineup looks like today, after the iPhone 13 was introduced this week:

  • iPhone SE: from $ 399
  • iPhone 11: Starting at $ 499 (instead of $ 599)
  • iPhone 12 mini: Starting at $ 599 (was $ 699)
  • iPhone 12: Starting at $ 699 (instead of $ 799)
  • iPhone 13 mini: From $ 699
  • iPhone 13: From $ 799
  • iPhone 13 Pro: From $ 999
  • iPhone 13 Pro Max: From $ 1,099
