  • A recently discovered iPhone hack shows how users can quickly rearrange multiple apps on their homescreen at the same time.
  • This nifty trick allows users to configure their iPhone exactly the way they want.

As an avid iPhone user for over a decade, I usually don’t come across any iPhone tips and tricks that I have never encountered before. And of course, new tips and workarounds inevitably come to the surface every time Apple introduces a new iteration of iOS, but these findings are usually discovered slowly but steadily during the beta release period.

But every time in a blue moon, a new tip will appear out of nowhere and blow my mind. And today, my friends, is one of those days. The most recent example comes to us via TikTok from all places. The trick in question provides an incredibly efficient way for users to move apps in bulk to a completely different phone screen. This tip is a lifeline for anyone who wants to revamp the layout of their iPhone or iPad.

Suppose, for example, you want to move 8 apps from your Home screen to the second page of apps on your device. Normally, you tap on an app and select the “Change Home Screen” option from the pop-up menu. Once the apps start shaking, you manually drag each app, one by one, from the home screen to the second page of apps. Needless to say, this can quickly get tedious, especially if you’re trying to move apps from the home screen to, say, the fifth app page on your iPhone.

This iPhone trick, however, allows you to simultaneously select multiple apps and move them to another page at the same time. Here is how it works.

To get started, long press an app icon until the context menu appears. From there, select the “Change Home Screen” selection. Once the apps start to move, tap an app that you want to move to another page and move it slightly in any direction. You’ll want to make sure that you keep your finger pressed on the app all the time. From there, with your finger still on the screen, take your other finger and just tap on any other apps you want to move to another page. By doing this, you will see each newly exploited app taken to the location of the first app icon. It may look like you are adding all the apps to a folder, but you are not.

Once you have selected all the apps you want to move, drag the app icon collection right or left, depending on which page you want to move them to. After that, all the selected apps will reappear on the new page.
