Apple Invites Developers to Online Events on Building Widgets, Creating App Clips, and Integrating iPad Apps on Mac

Today, Apple sent out email invitations to developers inviting them to participate in various events focused on specific iOS, iPadOS, and macOS features like widgets and app clips.

A widget-centric event called “Create Great Widget Experiences” is scheduled to take place on February 1, 2021 and will provide developers with the opportunity to learn new techniques for creating useful “widgets” for their applications.

We would love you to join us in creating some great widget experiences on Monday, February 1, 2021. This event will be taking place online.

Useful and enjoyable, “widgets” allow you to elevate key content in your application and display it where users can see it at a glance on iPhone, iPad and Mac. They can also help users customize their home screens in unique ways. Join us for an in-depth look at creating great widget experiences.

There is a separate event on Monday February 15 titled “Bring your ‌iPad Mac app to Mac”, and another event called “Create Awesome App Clip Experiences” which focuses on the App Clips feature introduced in iOS 14.

Developers who have been invited to these sessions can ask questions of Apple employees, just like the online events Apple hosted for WWDC last year.

Apple sometimes hosts these special session events focused on different iOS and macOS features. Last year, for example, Apple hosted an event focused on accessibility features.
