Apple iOS 13 is herebut he arrives in a controversial fire. So, should this major generational update come close to your iPhone? Absolutely not. And that's why. & Nbsp;

Apple

Who is it for?

For starters, you may not be able to switch to iOS 13. For the first time, Apple has cut two generations of iPhone (iPhone 5S and iPhone 6). You will need an iPhone SE, an iPhone 6S or later. Apple also cut iPads from iOS 13 and now use their own dedicated platform: iPadOS. & nbsp;

As always, compatible devices should receive an automatic update prompt, but if you do not go on Settings & gt; General & gt; Software update. iOS 13.1 beta testers (later), you have to expand your iPhones for iOS 13 to appear. & nbsp;

The Deal Breakers

Although the list of iOS 13 features is long, the pacts may be even longer. It's really a shame after the beautiful series of Solid Updates for iOS 12. & nbsp;

I have already written a complete breakdown of iOS 13 issues. These include application crashes, performance issues (especially in the camera), an erratic cellular signal, bugs with Mail, lost reminders, badly ordered photos and important defect of security of the home screen. He even breaks Fortnite. & Nbsp;

Not surprisingly, the reaction was strong with perhaps the most notable coming from the Department of Defense who used capital letters to warn staff and subcontractors that: "DOD Mobility strongly encourages you NOT to update, to avoid known Apple iOS 13 bugs". Follow his instructions.

So what do you get?

Forbes Contributor David Phelan at a detailed list but if you like to sit down, here's what the upgrade to iOS 13 will bring you (besides the problems):

Dark mode at system scale – asked for years, has finally arrived. It is not only superb but it will also save the battery of iPhones. OLED if they do not need to illuminate black pixels. & nbsp;

Google Pictures – has been completely revamped with a new tab displaying the strengths of users based on the day, month and year, improved user interface upgrade, smart removal of screen captures and documents from the main reel, as well as non-destructive video editing and much more.

Apple

Find my – combines the Find My iPhone and Find My Friends features in a single app and even lets you track offline devices with the help of Bluetooth with iOS devices nearby – useful, if you are afraid. & nbsp;

Connect with Apple – a rival to log options from Facebook and Google, but privilege privacy to hide your information from third parties. Apple will even go as far as generating a one-time e-mail address for registration. Two-factor authentication is supported. & Nbsp;

Location tracking – as Android 10, iOS 13 takes applications that access your location in the background and allows you to precisely control where you want it. & Nbsp;

Apple Maps – Increased coverage, more accurate addresses and better pedestrian data at launch for some cities, with wider deployment next year. Meanwhile, Collections allows you to share your favorite places with your friends, Favorites register your frequent routes and Look Around launches the Apple version of Google Street View. & Nbsp;

Apple

Camera – most of the Photo editing tools are now directly accessible from the Camera gallery, including video filters and portrait lighting settings. & nbsp;

Siri – acquires a new, more natural voice, Live Radio support and suggested automation feature to create shortcuts for regular requests. & Nbsp;

Safari – Smart suggestions have been added to the Safari home page for frequently visited sites, bookmarks, Reading Lists the selections and even the links that were sent to you from Messages. & Nbsp;

Keyboard – Years late, but always welcome: the Apple keyboard finally supports keyboard input

Apple

Audio sharing – The AirPod and Beats headphones can share music and videos with anyone with a second pair of AirPods or Beats. It's a great way to travel when you share a single screen. & Nbsp;

Health application – Monitoring of the menstrual cycle and monitoring of environmental noise have been added. & Nbsp;

Reminders – has a new user interface, an improved organization and a closer integration with Messages. & nbsp;

Volume – the HUD is ultimately less troublesome, so that it no longer covers most of the screen when it is adjusted

New Memoji – create your own Animoji avatar while the new Stickers feature allows you to share it with more apps. The Animoji set added a cow, a mouse and an octopus. & Nbsp;

Application Downloads – you can now download applications of any size on a LTE cellular signal

Apple has also promised a lot of security fixes in iOS 13 but, for the first time, I remember that in a generational version, the company did not have this data on its computer. Security page. & nbsp;

Apple iOS 13 Verdict: Stay Away

In terms of features, iOS 13 is a solid, though not spectacular, generational upgrade. It ticks the boxes of some favorite users for a long time, but there is nothing revolutionary going on. & Nbsp;

In terms of temptation, this is probably a good thing, because I absolutely can not recommend you to install iOS 13 given the large number of bugs in this update. Apple has even acknowledged (in part) that by promising to shorten the release date of iOS 13.1 from 30 to 24 September. This update will bring several features that were not in iOS 13 as well as bug fixes. ;

Therefore, there is really no reason to install iOS 13 yet. I suspect, had the new range iPhone 11 At the time of its release, the company would have postponed the release date and integrated the iOS 13.1 patches into one more reliable upgrade. & nbsp;

Tip: iOS 13.1 contains so many bugs that I guess it will take more than one update to remove them. Therefore, if you are using iOS 12, I would still advise you to take precautions when iOS 13.1 arrives. & Nbsp;

The road ahead & nbsp;

iOS 13.1 will be launched on September 24th and I was expecting several "minor" upgrades (iOS 13.1.1, etc.) within a few weeks. Apple was on a good set of updates for iOS 12 but iOS 13 stopped that brutally. This is a start worrying for iOS 13 but, despite a major concern, it's worth it to trust Apple to fix the problem as soon as possible. & nbsp;
