The interface is globally recognizable because it is similar to the features of the camera of the previous iPhone, but with additional benefits.
There are also additional effects. The most striking is where the background is whitened and the subject highlighted. The effect is all the more striking as the picture is darkened with colors to create a high contrast monochrome shot.
Of course, a phone is not limited to its camera. And a different feature is 3D Touch. It's gone. This is the haptic feedback effect associated with firm pressure on an application icon, for example, to bring up a drop-down menu.
This system has now been replaced by Haptic Touch, a system introduced on the iPhone XR and extended to the iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro, which becomes a decent replacement through more widespread uses.
While some found it slower and less effective on the iPhone XR than the 3D Touch, Haptic Touch here seems almost indistinguishable from the 3D Touch that preceded it. A faster processor promises ultra-fast responses and powerful graphics, although we have to wait to try that to evaluate that.
Battery life is also significantly improved on the new models. Apple claims that the battery of the iPhone Pro will last four hours longer than that of the iPhone XS and that for the larger, iPhone Pro Max, its life will be significantly improved. These are impressive claims, so hopefully they resist the real tests.
