Apple just hinted that several MacBook updates could still happen this year

Apple has filed several new Mac models in the Eurasian Economic Commission's database; In the past, these records were a forerunner of product announcements a few months later. As noted by MacRumeurs, the seven model numbers are designated by Apple as "portable" computers – meaning it is MacBook – are A2141, A2147, A2158, A2159, A2179, A2182 and A2251.

This looks like a lot of computers, especially considering Apple has just refreshed its MacBook Pro lineup earlier this month. You can now purchase a 15-inch MacBook Pro with an Intel 8-core processor. But it still leaves us with the MacBook and MacBook Air 12 inches as potential candidates for update, and there is also the 13-inch MacBook Pro (without Touch Bar) that has been ignored for a while now.

Apple would work on a brand new MacBook Pro 16-inch design revisited. But a 2019 version of this product seems a bit odd if other Apple "Pro" notebooks stay true to the current look for another year. Would not it make sense to update them all with a brand new design?

It would be nice if Apple made MacBooks with optional LTE connectivity to work on the move; the classic MacBook seems to be the most appropriate option. (It's also a good choice for Apple's first Mac with an ARM chipset.) But I'm dreaming of stuff to fill these seven model numbers at this point. If new MacBook updates are on the agenda this year, they will likely be announced in the fall.
