Apple Launches Extended Holiday Return Policy, Returns Accepted Through Jan. 8 in US

Apple today updated its return policy for the holiday season, extending the period during which holiday gifts and purchases can be returned to the United States.


Items purchased from the Apple Online Store and received between November 10 and December 25, 2020 can be returned to Apple until January 8, 2021, giving vacation buyers more than two weeks to complete returns.

These dates are applicable for the US store, but Apple is also extending the return periods in other countries. The time available for a return may vary by country, so before making an Apple gift purchase it is worth checking the return policy where you are.

Items purchased from the Apple Online Store and received between November 10 and December 25, 2020 may be returned until January 8, 2021. Please note that all other terms and conditions provided in the sales and refund policy of the ‘Apple Online Stores are still applicable with respect to these purchased items. All purchases made after December 25, 2020 are subject to the standard return policy.

Certain items are excluded from the return policy, such as Apple Gift Cards and App Store, but purchases of iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple TV and accessories may be returned. Purchased devices can be opened and used before being returned, but they must be in their original packaging.

Purchases received before November 10, 2020 or after December 25, 2020 will be subject to Apple’s standard 14-day return policy.

In addition to announcing the new vacation return period, Apple also today shared its annual gift guide. The gift guide features graphics of holiday-themed Apple products and gift suggestions such as iPhones, AirPods, Apple Gift Cards, Apple Watch, HomePod mini, and more.
