With the launch of macOS 10.15, Apple plans to launch separate applications for music and podcasts on Mac, according to developer Steve Troughton-Smith.
In a shared tweet this afternoon, Troughton-Smith said that, based on the evidence he's discovered, Apple seems to be working on new UIKit-based music, podcast and book apps for MacOS, who will join all three the Apple application says is in the works.
Separate apps for each of these services suggest that Apple is considering splitting the iTunes for Mac application, which is where podcasts, movies, and TV shows are available at the same time. ;actual hour. Apple already has a Books app, but an updated version or a separate app including audiobooks could be under development.
I am now quite confident considering the evidence that I do not want to make public at this stage: Apple is considering new music (probably UIKit), podcasts, maybe even books, applications for macOS, to join the new TV application. I'm expecting the four to be the next wave of marzipan apps. Grain of salt, etc.

Apple on macOS Mojave introduced the basics of applications for iOS and Mac platforms, and Apple introduced dedicated Mac apps for Stocks, Home, Apple News and Voice Memos. All of these applications were based on iOS applications and, with the new software coming in in 2019, new iOS applications could be integrated with Mac to replace iTunes.
And yes, that means the much anticipated and expected separation of iTunes. Finally!
