Apple has stopped selling the LG UltraFine 4K screen in its online store in Canada, the United States and other countries such as Japan.
The 4K LG UltraFine was launched in the fall of 2016 and designed with LG. Its list of products on Apple.ca no longer appears, but the LG UltraFine 5K screen is still available at a price of $ 1,699.95.
You may remember a drop in price on USB-C and Thunderbolt accessories aimed at new MacBook Pro users to help them get used to #donglelife. Apple has also reduced these new LG UltraFine 4K and 5K screens by 25% by the end of 2016.
According to Apple Ming-Chi Kuo, while Apple is still selling the LG UltraFine 27-inch 5K monitor, the company would work on a 31.6-inch 6K display, which will be powered by a mini LED backlight. This could be an incursion more and more of Apple in the production of its own monitors, having left the sector of autonomous screens in the fall of 2016.
LG debuted with its own 4K 32-inch screen this year – a solo effort – unlike the 4K and 5K UltraFine screens, which were a partnership with Apple.
Although the LG UltraFine 4K screen is no longer available for sale on Apple.ca, it may still appear in the company's refurbished store. Resellers such as Best Buy and Newegg no longer list the monitor as available.
