In a new advertisement on its YouTube channel, Apple is promoting the durability and water resistance of the iPhone 12 and the performance of the “Ceramic Shield” screen.

The ad, titled “Cook,” features a chef who puts an iPhone 12‌‌ to the test by spraying it with liquid and flour, then dropping it onto his screen multiple times. The announcement aims to showcase the “Ceramic Shield” display on the iPhone 12‌, a new type of glass made by “introducing nano-ceramic crystals into the glass”.

Apple claims that this new glass on the front and back of the ‌iPhone 12‌ models results in four times better drop performance and calls it the strongest glass of all smartphones. The ‌‌iPhone 12 modèles models are IP68 certified, which allows them to withstand submersion in up to 6 meters of water for up to 30 minutes.
