Apple Card arrives this summer and we expect that the new credit card Apple will be compatible with iOS 12.4. Apple has not been more specific about the exact launch date for its US customers, but the company has published for several weeks beta for developers of iOS 12.4 without Apple Card. Apple will release the sixth beta version for developers of the next software update later in the day, hoping to score the pre-release final before the update is ready for prime time.
The previous beta version of iOS 12.4 appeared on June 24, more than two weeks ago, suggesting a potential release of the Apple card in the middle or end of July. Apple is also running public and major beta releases for developers of the iOS 13 software update for iPhone later this fall. Apple generally releases major iPhone software updates in September, which should allow us to release a July or August version for Apple Card.
Bloomberg announced last month that Apple had expanded the internal testing of the Apple Card to include retail employees. Apple is also running a beta version for watchOS 5.3 developers (the beta 5 release is out today), which will probably also work with Apple Card in the Wallet app.
