Apple has reportedly overcome production issues with its all-new Apple Watch Series 7 smartwatch and will now begin mass production of the device in mid-September, according to a report by analyst Ming-Chi Kuo seen by MacRumors. The news comes as Apple prepares for a major launch event on September 14. The fall event will likely focus on its latest iPhone models with the new Apple Watch set to make an appearance as well.

At the end of last month Nikkei and Bloomberg reported that Apple has temporarily halted production of its latest smartwatch while it fixes issues. The issues were believed to be related to the revamped 7 Series design, which would consist of “a flatter screen and edges” than previous models. The new design would have forced Apple to use new production processes that created “reliability issues” in early testing.

Today, however, these issues are believed to have been resolved, with shipments scheduled to begin in late September. According to Bloombergby Mark GurmanHowever, although Apple is announcing the new watch next week, some models may be shipping “late or in small quantities”.

In addition to the flatter screen, the new smartwatch is expected to come with slightly larger bezels of 41mm and 45mm (up from 40mm and 44mm currently), increasing the larger screen from 1.78 inches to 1.9 inches diagonally. The watches are also said to have a faster processor and updated wireless technology.
