The following month, Tim Cook, Apple's CEO, hinted that the next original content service will be available on subscription, ending the months of speculation surrounding Apple's pricing policy for Apple TV +.

Asked Apple about Apple's recent services during the conference call for investors, Cook likened Apple TV + to a product comparable to that offered by major networks and content owners.

"The TV + product is playing in a market where cable cable transfer is significant," Cook said. "We believe that most users will have several high-end products and we will do our best to convince them that the Apple TV + product should be part of it."

Unlike cable subscription systems, streaming services provide users with access to the card for TV content and movies. Typically, the offer is limited to an individual channel, channel, or channel group owned by a content owner and is therefore less expensive than traditional cable levels. In addition, over-the-top systems are economical in that viewers only pay for the content they want, rather than in a set including channels that might not be viewed.

Apple unveiled Apple TV + at a special event in March, but did not disclose price details.

As part of a preview of the programming that was to begin on this service, Apple has unearthed leading Hollywood stars, such as Steven Spielberg, JJ Abrams, Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon, Jennifer Aniston, Steve Carell and Jason Momoa will present for the first time their upcoming projects.

According to rumors, TV + would be a free value-added service offered to Apple device owners via the new TV application, Apple generating revenue on its investment through subscriptions sold to third-party services. Earlier reports indicated that the company had at one point reflected on an offer that would integrate TV + with Apple News + and Apple Music.

Judging by Cook's statements today, it seems that Apple TV + appears more like a paid subscription solution, putting it in competition with groups like Netflix and Hulu.

Apple TV + should be launched this fall.
