This weekend saw the first big price drops on the Apple Watch SE, which was just introduced in September. Sales at Target and Walmart slashed the retail price of both sizes by $ 50, which was later matched by Amazon. By Monday morning, the discounts were gone. But now, both sizes of the Apple Watch SE are again $ 50 below the Apple Store price: GPS versions of the 40mm SE start at $ 230 and 44mm models start at $ 260.
Here’s what’s confusing: Rather than slashing the main price, Amazon makes that stealthy “Save $ 40 at checkout” note, effectively applying coupons to items at checkout. Plus, it’s $ 40 off because Amazon has already cut $ 10 off the main price. But the bottom line when you check out is that you’ll save $ 50 over what you’d pay at the Apple Store right now.
the Watch SE is the 2020 Stepdown model of Apple’s 2020 line of wristwatches. It’s similar to the 2019 5 Series, but without the screen always on and ECG function. The Watch SE also has a more powerful processor and a 30% larger Retina display than the much older Series 3, which starts at $ 169. Unlike the Series 3, the Watch SE also supports Apple’s new family setup plan this lets you set up an Apple Watch for your kid, but you’ll have to spend on the cellular version (and an accompanying wireless plan).
These cell models are also on sale for $ 50 off.
