It looks like Apple’s iMac Pro is heading to that big IT showroom in the sky. The standard $ 4,999 model is still available on Apple’s site, but only while current supplies run out – once they’re gone, the iMac Pro will no longer be available, Apple told us on Saturday.

Released in 2017, the iMac Pro has been touted by Apple back then as “by far the most powerful iMac we’ve ever made” and aimed at professionals who needed super fast processing and a lot of computing power. But the machine hasn’t benefited from any significant hardware upgrades since then.

The 27-inch iMac that debuted in August of last year can be configured to meet the needs of professionals and is now becoming the iMac of choice for pros, Apple told us on Saturday, adding that buyers who want scalability and more power can look to the Mac Pro.

Apple is preparing to revamp its iMac line desktop computers, Bloomberg reported in January.
