Apple’s MagSafe Battery Now Available In Stores For $ 99

Apple’s new MagSafe Battery for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro is now available for in-store pickup, and the first online orders have arrived at shoppers’ doors.

You can purchase one online and have it shipped to you in the days or weeks to come (depending on where you live) or visit your local Apple Store to purchase one. Availability will depend on location.

Apple’s website offers several ways to determine if your nearest outlet has the battery in stock. For example, if you are in the United States, the product’s online store page attempts to automatically detect your zip code, or you can enter your zip code manually. The product page will then indicate if the battery is available at the nearest location.

The MagSafe Battery was first announced and released online a week ago. The battery works with iPhone 12, iPhone mini, iPhone 12 Pro, and iPhone 12 Pro Max, in other words, any iPhone equipped with MagSafe.

MagSafe was introduced with the iPhone 12 line at the end of last year, although the name has a longer history in Apple products. IPhones that support it have magnets on the back, near the phones’ wireless charging coils. These magnets ensure that chargers and batteries using the technology stay optimally aligned for the best charging speeds. MagSafe can also be used for other accessories, like a magnetic wallet or a car holder.

The MagSafe battery can charge an iPhone at 5W when not plugged in or 15W when plugged in. The battery itself has a Lightning connector, but it doesn’t come with a Lightning cable or AC adapter; you will either need to use the Lightning cable and adapter that you already use with your iPhone, or purchase a new one. The pack is also supported directly by iOS in that you can view its charge status on your home screen and a few other places.

The product focuses on user experience and seamless integration, but the battery costs $ 99, which makes it much more expensive than many similar sized batteries for the iPhone.
