He’s back (in TV form). The loved – and missed him very much – the old Daily show host, Jon Stewart did what he had done many times before, making jokes on the TV news. Premiere on September 30 on Apple TV +, The problem with Jon Stewart is a “one-issue multi-season series” that will delve into “the most important topics that are currently part of the national conversation”. It’s unclear whether a single issue will occupy an entire season or whether it’s one issue per episode. What is clear, however, is that this is one of the first times we’ve seen a show billed as a “multi-season” series before the premiers of the first season.

What is also clear is that we have a new teaser for the series in which Stewart laments the choice of a visual medium. Don’t worry, Jon. There will also be an accompanying podcast. Of course he’s been on TV since he left The daily show in 2015, including when he plugged in the conspiracy theory that COVID-19 was created in a laboratory in China. Jon, please don’t do this anymore.

Here’s Apple’s synopsis for the show:

In this new Apple Original series, Stewart will engage with those affected by the issue, as well as those who are helping to create the impact. Together they will discuss the tangible steps that can lead to a solution path. The companion series podcast will extend the conversation of each episode, featuring staff from across the series bringing us interviews with space activists, the facts on the matter and, yes, plenty of jokes.

Almost since Last week tonight created, all edutainment programs have tried to find a new way in this space. Stewart seems to follow suit, looking for a “solution” path, as Apple puts it. But how many seasons will the solution path take? Only time will tell.
