Are the Detroit Lions ready to embrace Jared Goff as their franchise QB?

The Detroit Lions are expected to have a new man under center and acting as the face of the franchise in Jared Goff. While there was initially speculation the Lions were trading despite Jared Goff and might consider moving him, evidence since then suggests the Lions are embracing him with open arms. Dan Campbell & Co. is hoping Goff can be their rock at quarterback, at least for the next two years.

Question Of The Day: Are you ready to embrace Jared Goff as your franchise’s QB?

My answer: I don’t think we have a choice. Either way, it’s a yes.

I think the good thing about Jared Goff is that he brings hope. There’s not much to look forward to in the near future: Defense is only marginally better than your local junior college, and the Lions have a wide receiver under contract among their 53 players.

Jared Goff was once a promising player who led his team to the Super Bowl. Yes, he had a nice cast of support. Yes, he has since regressed. Nonetheless, he did. Seeing the level at which he is capable of playing gives hope that the Lions can at least be competitive in games this season, even if their record suggests otherwise.

Your turn.
