Recent events have left doubts as to whether they should wear two masks instead of one, or whether there should be a specification for the masks worn.
From Monday, the Austrian government is asking all residents to wear N95s in retail stores and supermarkets, as well as on public transport. He says cotton and cloth masks are not enough.

A New York Times report last week suggested that everyone using N95s would be a good idea. They are designed to block 95% of small particles.
Dr Jake Deutsch, emergency physician and chief medical officer for CURE Urgent Care New York City, told NY1 that if you don’t have a mask like an N95, a second coat is always helpful.
“Having a less supportive mask, maybe just a surgical mask or something you made at home, putting on a second layer or barrier as an extra layer of protection is never a bad thing,” Deutsch said.
“We want to move the air in a pattern that ripples and twists and turns to block particles, and the finer the quality of the material, the less likely the particles that we worry about the virus are going through, and then having two layers will be just like a second layer of protection to prevent this transmission, ”he continued.
Deutsch also said that no matter how many masks one wear, it’s the way they are worn that is important, such as making sure the nose is covered.
“When it comes to masking, it’s as good as the level of protection you have, and whether you’re using something fancy like an N95 or just a piece of cloth, it really depends on how you wear it. ‘use and circumstances. that allows this barrier to work, ”he said.
Correctly unmasking is also important. Deutsch said the masks should be removed from the side, not from the nose down, to avoid exposing possible virus particles from the mask on the face.
He also said sheet masks should be washed daily and fitted properly.
